Jessica Rajesh Pope

I’m Jessica, full-time marketing manager by day, MBA student by weekend, and the photographer behind Venya Portrait in between. Before I spent my days creating scroll-stopping images, I served six years in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Enterprise as a Fire Controlman. Three maritime deployments, advanced electronics training, tactical weapons coordination, firefighting, ordnance crane operation… basically, if it was high-stakes, mission-critical, and involved either ordanance or radars, I was there.

When I left the military, I did what a lot of us do, explored a few different career paths while asking myself, “What’s next?” That “next” was launching Tummy Time, a newborn and baby boutique in Georgia. My goal was to give myself something to hone my professional skills and stay flexible while my kids were little. Within a year, it won Baby Boutique of the Year – Georgia, and after a few “just for fun” newborn photo shoots, the boutique quickly morphed into a photography studio.

In 2019, my husband, our two kids, and I traded small town Georgia for small town Signal Mountain, Tennessee (but at least we have Chattanooga now). I launched Venya Portrait to bring modern, bold, confidence-filled portraits to Chattanooga. The kind you want to put on your wall, your LinkedIn, and maybe even send to your ex just to show them what they’re missing.

Now, I combine my growing marketing expertise and creative eye to deliver professional headshots and portraits that work for you. I’m also passionate about supporting women in keeping their professional skills sharp, because stepping back into the workforce should never feel impossible.

When I’m not behind the camera or running marketing campaigns, you’ll find me trying to work out regularly, wasting time on Pinterest & Tiktok, and diving into a good book. I passionately love my stretchy pants and listening/watching all things murder, mystery, and true crime.
